ARQ

In 2021, RBA was approached by ARQ to design a new headquarters for their sustainable fashion business based in McMinnville, Oregon. ARQ had purchased a historic cannery building constructed in the 1920s in downtown McMinnville. The vintage factory still had large open spaces and loading docks once required for machinery. It was home to the Huberd Shoe Grease Company through the 1950s and was later reused as an industrial nut-drying plant.

ARQ wanted to embrace the history of this building and introduce Bauhaus-inspired aesthetics that embodied the spirit of their company. We worked closely with them to re-envision this building and bring its spaces back to life. Our design included adding large windows and strategic additions of color while accenting the industrial character of the building. The program included a street front retail space and dye wash room, sewing and inventory zones, an open office space, photography studio, and a apartment unit.
