Dimmick

Two brothers and their families went in on an 11 acre parcel in Parkdale Oregon to build a family getaway. The site of a now defunct state park, Dimmick Park, borders along the East Fork of Hood River. To meet the needs of the two families, the house has two bedrooms set at each end of the house. Two loft spaces were carved out to create a den and bunk room connected by a steel bridge spanning over the great room. After 3 years of camping on the site and a significant design revision to meet the modest budget construction began just as the pandemic set in. Camping on site continued while the families managed construction and took on some of the work themselves. Expected completion date of March, 2021.
