An Architect Helps Longtime Family Friends Rebuild After a California Wildfire.
After a devastating wildfire that destroyed their longtime home, Michele and Fred were faced with the difficult reality of what to do next. Realizing their deep connection to the area, the couple decided to rebuild on their Mount Veeder land with the help of lifelong friend and architect, Risa Boyer. “I missed… the sanctuary of my place in nature. This is how I want to live," Michele said. This strong connection to the surrounding nature drove the design, as it was the couple’s top priority. The modern 700 sf cabin features a deck larger than the home itself, surrounding the home and opening it up to invite the outdoors in. The long roofline opens up the whole space and allows the couple to enjoy the land that they love.
