Nominated "Best of"

I found out today that I was nominated by the Houzz.com community as part of the "Best of 2012" for home remodeling! The Houzz website is a great source for home design inspiration and has a pretty huge following.  It's nice to be recognized by such a great website!

Portland Monthly photo shoot!

Today we had the pleasure of having the talented Lincoln Barbour www.lincolnbarbour.com photograph our house for an upcoming Portland Monthly magazine article.  It took us forever to get our house ready for the photo shoot being the slightly detail oriented people that we are.  Once they arrived I finally got to relax, sit back and watch them do their magic. It was a fun experience. Amara Holstein who writes the Spaces column for Portland Monthly wrote the article, I haven't read it yet but she is a fantastic writer so I'm sure it will be a fun read! I'm very thankful for for Amara for all her help and support. I am not sure which issue it will be coming out in, but keep a look out for it.

Davis Residence

The Davis residence in the Echo Park neighborhood in LA is almost complete. It's a small new home on a very steep down sloping lot. The house is about 1300 sq ft including the two car garage, the house alone is around 930 sq ft.

Dwell Magazine Playhaus Competition

Being a mother of a 3 year old I am constantly thinking about how to make our backyard more fun for a girl with boundless energy.  When a friend sent me the link to this competition I was instantly drawn to it.  The competition was sponsored by James Hardi products, so it was required to incorporate their cement board products.  It was a fun exercise to come up with a modern playhouse that breaks from the mold of the traditional.

the Joinery Annex

I was contacted by the owner of the Joinery a few months back to come up with a design concept for a new building on their property on SE Woodstock.  The new building would house a restaurant and share outdoor common space with the existing food carts which would be located in the courtyard between the Joinery showroom and the new building.  My client wanted the building to compliment the existing architecture of the surrounding commercial area but also be a modern, green building that reflected the Joinery's commitment to a well designed product.

35th Ave Residence

I have finally taken more photos of my house, the front landscaping is 95% done. I worked with Lauren Hall-Behrens of Lilyvilla Gardens on the Landscape Design. She was great to work with. My house will never really be done but it's getting close!
